Two 10-year-old boys get their hands on a mob gun with which a cop was shot. The father of one of the boys must take to the streets in a desperate bid to recover the weapon before the mob finds out it's missing.
Critically acclaimed director Wayne Kramer (director of The Cooler – nominated for two Golden Globes and one Academy Award) wrote and will direct this edge-of-your seat crime drama. Running Scared is a gritty, tough, and pulse-pounding action packed film following one night in the life of a father and son, and the chain of events that occur after two boys find a gun. With Running Scared, Kramer continues his wonderfully textured character explorations in a highly explosive, fast-paced dramatic environment.
After a drug deal goes wrong and some dirty cops end up dead, low –level mobster Joey (Paul Walker) has to dispose of the guns from the shootout. Things get complicated when his neighbor’s young son snatches the gun and uses it to shoot his father. Once this happens, Joey has to race all night to find the kid, cover up the shooting, and get the gun back -- all while keeping both his own mob associates and the cops at bay.
