Jennifer Lopez on Being Sexy and Silly and Letting It All Hang Out
The performer with the custom-built body talked with NY Rock’s Prairie Miller about how she is flying high these days with the release of her latest flick, The Wedding Planner and new album, J. Lo. Lopez also spoke about marriage – but not necessarily with the judicially preoccupied Sean Puffy Combs.
NYROCK: Is it true that you were interested in The Wedding Planner because you wanted to appear goofy in a movie?
LOPEZ: Yes and no. I wanted a chance to show I'm goofy, but I wanted more of a chance to do a romantic comedy. You know, to see how that would be. But there is a side of me that's silly. I like to make jokes and to make people laugh, absolutely. So I was like, damn, I should just jump in. Like everything else, feet first and just do it.
People always told me, you can do a comedy, you'd be funny. But it's hard! Even in dramas, when you try to do just a funny line, it's like you know it's supposed to be funny and it just doesn't come out funny. You know what I mean? And sometimes you're standing there with a jackass face looking at the crew like, was that funny? More >
